On Deck Academy is proud to announce the commitment of Ryan Dyer (2025 On Deck O’s/Nation Ford High School) to USC Lancaster! Ryan is a talented pitcher who understands how to get hitters out and consistently puts his team in a great position to win. He is an outstanding competitor, and he has persevered through a few challenging injuries during his high school career. Ryan continued to work and believe in his ability. He has been a key member of the NAFO staff this year, and he has created an opportunity to continue his career at the college level. Ryan has also been a committed member of the On Deck O’s for years, and we are thrilled to follow his success with the Lancers. If you struggle hitting the ball the other way, one of the main causes is wanting to move away from the part of the zone the ball is pitched, ie. the outer half. If this is you, try this drill: 1. Close yourself off INTENTIONALLY with your lower half so your front foot is moving to the outer half. 2. Think about your entire body moving on plane with the direction you’ve just created, from

It is easy to set up a catcher or a tee to the middle of the plate. Create some pressure on yourself! If you’re a hitter, put the tee in on your hands to defend a two strike pitch!
