On Deck Academy is thrilled to announce that @connor.longley (2025 On Deck O’s/South Mecklenburg HS) committed to @wingatebaseball! Connor is not only a great student and talented baseball player, he is a mature young man who persevered over a great deal of uncertainty early in his high school career. He battled through a rare injury and a long recovery process. This summer for the O’s, Connor has been a reliable and valuable member of a talented pitching staff. Every time he takes the mound, he gives our team a chance to win! He understands how to pitch with pace and he commands three pitches that he can use in any count. Connor has a very bright future and we are so excited he chose the Bulldogs!
Congratulations to Coach Gregory and the Bulldogs for landing another talented prospect. We would also like to congratulate Connor and his family on this impressive accomplishment. Thank you to the SMHS coaching staff for their hard work and support of Connor during this entire process. We look forward to following Connor’s success at the collegiate level!
